No Reply? Here’s why…

Those of you who have looked at my site will be familiar with the ‘Big Green Button’ which leads to a pro-forma page where you can enter details of the Ibiza ceremony you are interested in, and then submit it to me….  I normally reply within 12 hours, ofter much quicker, but this week some people around Wednesday and Thursday may still be waiting.

I am sorry that that is the case, but the blame must be placed at the door of the American Secret Service, who with no explanation suspended the software which provides the pro-forma service I use on my site.  They re-instated it on Late Thursday, and have provided no explanation, despite requests from numerous internet watchdog bodies.

I suppose that’s why they’re called a secret Service

Anyway…….  if you did submit a form this week and didn’t get a reply, please submit the form again and I promise it will be answered promptly!

I have been very busy over the past two weeks with bookings for both 2012 and 2013, and I look forward to hearing form you.

Hedley Paul

Ibiza wedding advice

My first suggestion must be:  ‘Do the very best you can’.

I do that with my ceremonies and it is immensely rewarding.  Your wedding on Ibiza will without question be a lifetime memory.  Do your very best, and Ibiza will yield in abundance.

I have conducted ceremonies at some the very top hotels on Ibiza (which is top, you may ask) with almost 200 guests and an unbelievable budget; I’ve also conducted a ceremony on a deserted beach at sunset for only the couple, away on a week’s low-cost all-inclusive holiday at end of season.  Both weddings were magical!  The key factor was that both couples loved each other absolutely!  Totally, absolutely, and forever!  Both couples cried with happiness; the budgets big and small clearly unimportant.

Ibiza loved them……

New Year Blessings from Hedley-Paul

Hedley-Paul, Ibiza’s leading ceremony host wishes you a very Happy New Year!  Especially those of you who will enjoy a wonderful wedding day with us here on Ibiza.

2011 was a fabulous year, busy but fabulous, and 2012 is already shaping into the busiest year yet.  Ibiza is still THE place to enjoy a wedding ceremony and blessing, so if you’re marrying in 2012 and want an outstanding and memorable Ibiza blessing then book here now because many dates are already taken.

2013 is starting to fill too, with the early-birds taking the best dates already.  If you’re thinking of 2013 just don’t delay – book now – just £50 deposit secures the date for you and avoids disappointment.  As a special sunshine offer in light of the economic gloom, I will until April 30th, accept 2013 deposits with the booking at 2012 prices!!!  Come May 1st and 2013 prices apply for deposits received after that date, so don’t miss the 2013 early-booking discount.

Easy direct flights from more and more UK destinations make it easier to arrange, and with great hotel sites like ibiza-hotels-spain.com little else is needed, but if there is anything, then ibiza-weddings-spain.com will signpost you to all the services you need to arrange the whole thing yourself.

Of course there is simply ONE place only to source your wedding cake and that’s ibizacakes.com – the original and by far the best cakes on Ibiza.  Award winning ‘ibizaeileen’ regularly features in top UK wedding mags and specialises in stunning sugarcraft creations – not just something knocked up as a sideline to your wedding, using buttercream and a few of your flowers and rushed out at the last moment – Eileen’s cakes are magnificent centrepieces – just like the bride’s dress, a beautiful memory in the making!

My most important wedding of 2011!

Our wonderful Ibiza wedding!

Well, almost – not much posted here recently because Eileen and I flew away to a romantic Registry in UK, to at long last be married.

Not in Ibiza I grant you, but we’ll be doing the same as many couples and having a blessing ceremony here in Ibiza during early spring.  Some of our friends from Ibiza joined us, so in spirit it was an Ibiza wedding. We’ll be celebrating here at the wonderful Neolithic stone
circle at Mandalay in Cala Jondal.  This must be one of the most spiritually powerful places on the island.

Yes, it’s a REAL stone circle created by energy healer Derek Talbot, with stones and boulders from the Prescelly hills in Wales.  Yes, Derek transported the stones from UK because they are so very special, and draw the subtle energy from the cosmos.

Just standing in the circle you can feel the energy focussed from the cosmos, – and we’re actually going to celebrate our marriage there with family and friends witnessing our vows and blessings.

Meanwhile a pic of the Ibiza wedding couple!

Suddenly it’s Ibiza weddings 2012 and 2013!

Well, the last blessing now complete, and the happy couple off on honeymoon.  Fortunately the weather held for them – maybe there are powers that we don’t understand! Anyway, congratulations and blessings upon them.

Time now to look forward to next year…. but Christmas comes first and in UK the shops will be full of everything imaginable to catch your spare pennies.

It’s busy here still, with a surprising number of enquiries and bookings for 2013 Ibiza weddings rolling in.  Of course, 2012 Ibiza weddings will be busy, and sadly there have been several clashes of date, with some couples not being able to book me.  The good news is that I have made contact with someone who I know and trust, and more importantly can conduct a ceremony with ease and competence and confidence.  Fortunately they can cover any ceremonies that I can not, happy for me to oversee their preparation and content.  A big plus also is that it provides a cover for me in the (hopefully) unlikely event of serious illness or other emergency.  After all your wedding ceremony is not a rehearsal, – we all get only one shot at getting it right!  Even when it’s the second time around and you are renewing your vows with the one you love,

If you haven’t already seen it, have a look at the new page on this site.  Testimonials 2011 for blessings-on-ibiza can be found under the ‘blog’ tab.  Some lovely pics and very kind comments from just a few of the delightful people I’ve had the privilege of working with this year.  And yes, because ibizacakes.com (that’s Eileen) and I work together, you’ll find some of her comments too.      Enjoy!  I certainly did!!

Autumnal blessings and relish the extra hour in bed next Sunday (30th)when we put the clocks BACK by one hour.  I shall!!

Best wishes and Autumnal blessings,

Hedley Paul – your Ibiza wedding and blessing celebrant.

Testimonials from 2011…

I have to say that the following comments Eileen and I received (among many others) make me feel good!  On days when I feel a little tired and down I have a read and they cheer me up.  The beautiful days, the beautiful couples, the beautiful friends……   As Louis Armstrong sang:  What a wonderful world!  So – Thank you to you all for giving me the opportunity to be part of those fabulous days!

Hi Paul & Eileen,  Thank you so much for the wonderful Ceremony you performed for us.  It was really special and very touching.  We can’t thank you enough for making it an amazing day to remember. The cupcakes were so beautiful, everyone loved them.  K & A

Hi Paul, just to say thank you for a lovely blessing ,everything went smooth !!!!!!!!!! S&L

Hi Paul,  I hope you are well and still enjoying life in Ibiza, you lucky thing!  We just wanted to say thanks for all your work and words that you said for our ceremony, we had a wonderful day and a wonderful time in Ibiza.  It was a blessing meeting you on the Sunday before as it calmed us down a lot and we felt much happier going into the final evening!  I’ve attached a wee photo of you on the day.  E & M

Hi Paul and Eileen,  Hope all is ok in Ibiza? I want to thank you both for making the day great, the service was lovely Paul and everyone commented on the lovely relaxed feel to it, which is just what we wanted.  Everyone commented on how scrummy the cakes were, they all went in a flash so that tells you how good tey were, unfortunately I never got one!  Roll on next year and our return to the lovely island. K & M

Good Evening Paul, Eileen,  Paul – from the moment we met you we knew that you were perfect to conduct our ceremony. You made it so personal and interesting, and we loved all of the little touches that we’d not thought about (the importance of a father ‘giving away’ his daughter, and the magic of Ibiza). Everyone commented on the service and said how beautiful it was. You also made us both feel completely at ease (not easy on such an emotionally charged occasion!) and we can’t wait to watch it all over again on the DVD that a family friend is making for us.T & L

Eileen – what can I say? The cakes were OUT OF THIS WORLD! Tom mentioned how beautiful the cakes looked the minute we’d walked back up the aisle! I knew (from the many samples you’d provided us with on the previous trips to Ibiza) that they would be amazing, but they exceeded my expectations. The tiny details you’d thought about such as matching the topper of feathers to my fan (that I had instead of flowers), the tiny hearts on the cupcakes, and the beautiful stargazer lillies completely overwhelmed us both. On top of this – they tasted sublime! We do actually have a chef as a close friend and he too raved about the lemon cake in particular! We took the chocolate cake back to our villa (where we were staying with family) the day after the wedding – and actually had 2 x family birthdays the following Friday – so the cake doubled as a birthday cake and was enjoyed by us all (not a crumb was left!).   If either of you need any testimonials or anything for your websites/blogs please DO let me know – you honestly were a pleasure to meet (it was fate that we found you that day last year!), get to know, and to finally have at our wedding. You both helped to make it the best day of our lives and we can’t thank you enough.  T & L

Hi Hedley,  Hope you guys are well and thanks again for giving us such a beautiful ceremoney and cake!!  O & L

Hi Paul,  I wanted to email you to say thank you again for a beautiful wedding ceremony last Saturday and for all your help, support & involvement – it has been lovely working with you over the past year or so – everything came together perfectly last weekend  ………the vows of commitment we said to each other. They were just perfect.     Thanks again for everything, really appreciate it all.  F & L

Hi Paul,   Happy you have the pics and like them – of course, please feel free to use them on your site.  I will of course recommend you.  All good. Lovely to meet you and will be in touch next time on the island.  L & J Hi Paul,   Just a little hello and a thank you email from me and C…..  Once again we would like to thank you for being part of our special day. All the guests we have spoken to said everything about it was fantasic, and the blessing was amazing. Also say thanks to Eileen for us, all the cakes went, but of course we have not eaten the top cake yet, we brought it back in good condition. Here is a few photos of the cakes, I’ll forward some of us three on the roof in a bit.  M & C

Hi Paul and Eileen,   T and I just wanted to say thank you so much for everything!  Our guests had nothing but praise for the service and the beautiful cakes!  You really helped make the day very special!  T & S

Hi Paul,  As promised, the wedding photos’s for you. Feel free to use some on your website if you wish.  Thanks again, the ceremony was lovely, and everyone said they enjoyed it :)   P & S

You only say it once……

To experience an Ibiza wedding ceremony on a beach or in the open air is one of the true delights of the island.  Being at one with nature, enjoying the sun, the blue skies, and the magnificent views will melt every heart.

But  Mother Nature has two faces however, and those gently crashing waves may be delightfully peaceful and soothing when you walk hand-in-hand along the sand, but come the moment you are nervously saying your wedding vows, those waves may well drown your voice for your family and friends.

For everyone attending a wedding on Ibiza, it involves much more commitment, effort and expense than it would in the UK.

To have gone to all that trouble and then being unable to hear what’s going on would be very very disappointing.

Many Ibiza beach weddings are held adjacent to restaurants which front onto the sea, and have in place a sound system to provide music for their guests as they eat or laze by the waves.

Having chilled vibes rolling out across the sand can be surreal, but having your intimate vows broadcast loud and wide across the beach to all in sundry is not quite the same, or indeed the blasting of your family and friends who travelled to join you.  A few venues on the island have sound systems which lend themselves to wedding ceremonies, and invariably they have dedicated equipment especially for ceremonies.

Fortunately I have my own high quality professional PA sound system which perfectly suits beach or open air events which is capable of addressing open air audiences of 100+ people.

Naturally if a venue has a satisfactory system, mine is not needed, but sound is a detail which can be so easily overlooked or even dismissed when planning the wedding.  Whichever venue you choose, be sure to ask if they have a suitable and adequate sound system, and what variety facilities it offers.  Ask to hear it, exactly as it will be provided to you.

It should truly be music to your ears.  Enjoy!

Alternative Ibiza Weddings

One of my pet hates is the ‘one size fits all’ mentality that pervades modern life.  Dare to be different!  If you want to that is…. I suppose ‘Dare to be yourself’ is a better motto.

‘Alternative Wedding’ conjures up all manner of things – to parents in particular, who fear all kinds of wierd activities and rituals, – and they do happen!  But the more common reality is a beautifully touching ceremony, where the love between the couple themselves is overlaid across the love, affection and friendship of their families and friends.

Each ceremony is therefore bespoke…. Created and crafted with words into the beautiful occasion you dreamed it to be.  Every one ‘hand-made’ as we discuss your past lives, your aspirations and dreams for the future, inclusive of all the love so generously brought all the way to your wedding on Ibiza.

And so it was this year – busy with more weddings that ever, it was fascinating to ‘people watch’ the many couples and how they all dared to be themselves (with a little encouragement from me!).  Fun, each and every one!

Some of the highlights are worth recall and mention….

A howling gale with fierce sun at Hacienda Hotel Na Xamena, another there in English, Catalan and French; they were certainly exhilarating and fun.

An Australian couple with a few friends on the rooftop of their apartment in Playa d’en Bossa, the briefest ceremony I’ve ever hosted, where the bride flew in the night before, and the couple flew off to South Africa next day!

Getting my feet wet a couple of times on beaches (once at Es Cana, once at Portinax) as the sea reminded me that I might hold the congregation’s attention, but the tide held back for no-one!

The sheer beauty of Formentera, and welcoming atmosphere of Gecko Beach Club….

Back to Ibiza and Amante Beach Club always has that fantastic view, and dining there as the Moon rises out of the sea….. blissful and surreal!

Of course, every visit to Cap de Falco is captivating – it’s not every day you can go to work and watch a flock of literally hundreds of pink flamingos paddling in the salt flat ponds.

So, if you are even only dreaming of a wedding on Ibiza – Go for it!!  You’ll never regret it.  Get in touch, and I can provide lots of help, and introduce you to loads of the people who live and work here.  Make your dream a reality, just hit one of the Big Green ‘easy contact’ buttons back on the main site.

I look forward to hearing from you…

Hedley Paul
