wedding blessings on ibizaSite MapMade with Xara Will your wedding guests hear yourwordsoflove? An Ibiza wedding ceremony on a beach or in the open air is one of the delights of the island. Being at one with nature, enjoying the sun, the blue skies, and the magnificent views will melt anyones heart. Nature has two sides however, and the gently crashing waves may be peaceful when you walk hand-in-hand along the sand, but when you are nervously saying the words of commitment that are your vows those waves will probably drown your voice for most of your family and friends. In the countryside, the rustling of leaves and foliage will also muffle sound.Remember how in a church with bare walls, the sound is quite sharp due to reflected sound. In the open air of course, there is no reflected sound to help carry our voices. During my career years it was fascinating to note the different sound characteristics in lecture theatres and halls, and similarly in different churches. Open air events are far more demanding acoustically that interior events.Attending a wedding on Ibiza involves quite a bit more commitment, effort and expense than ‘popping up the road’ to the local Church or Registry. To go to all that trouble and then not be able to hear you say those vows would be very very disappointing. Many beach weddings are held adjacent to restaurants which front onto beaches and have a sound system provides music for their guests as they dine or chill by the sea. Having music rolling out across the sand is great, but having your vows broadcast loud and wide across the beach is not quite the same, or indeed blasting the audience of of family and friends who travelled to be with you. Only a few venues have systems which lend themselves to wedding ceremonies, and invariably they have a dedicated set-up for ceremonies. It is for that very reason that I offer the provision of a high quality professional PA sound system which perfectly suits beach or open air events. It is capable of addressing open air audiences of 100+ people. Beyond that I can provide an additional amplifier. It features a four speaker system, with multiple channel inputs for up to four microphones, or musicians input in place of one or more microphone. The microphones are all specifically chosen for their voice recognition qualities. It additionally has inputs for iPod or CD player, allowing music of your personal choice for processions up and down the aisle. If four mics ar required, I tend to use two wireless, and two wired units. It is all fully operational on battery packs, and therefore is not hindered by last minute challenges of ‘where’s the power supply?’Naturally if a venue has a satisfactory systerm, mine is not needed, but sound is a detail which can be easily overlooked or even dismissed. When selecting a venue, be sure to ask if they have a suitable sound system, and what facilities it offers. If possible, have it demonstrated exactly as it will be provided to you.
